Zachary "Zach" R. Curley

Zachary R. Curley passed away while surrounded by loved ones on November 6, 2025, at the age of 38.

Zach was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on May 21, 1987, but lived most of his life in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The oldest of four siblings, Zach was the best big brother and our “buddy”, imparting foundational lessons with his family of patience, empathy, resilience, and appreciation of simple moments.

With a laugh and smile that were truly contagious, Zach touched the lives of many throughout his life. His gentle and loving demeanor spread joy to those he encountered through the special education programs at Westlawn Elementary School, Webster Middle School and Cedarburg High School. He enjoyed his time and adventures with friends at Balance Inc. for the past 17 years.

He loved music, a crackling fire, car rides, riding horses, his little red wagon, and Disney, but what he enjoyed the most was being at home in the presence of his favorite people. He taught us all more about love, strength, true connection, and the simple power of a warm “hi” (or often, “buh bye”).

Zach’s spirit and joy will live on through his adoring family: parents Dale and Debbie Curley; siblings and in-laws Samuel (Katie) Curley, Hannah (Luke Mynsberge) Curley and Elizabeth (Aaron Stenz) Curley; nieces Sydney Curley and Scarlett Mynsberge; nephews Jack and Max Curley; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His light, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through all who had the privilege to know and love him. ‘Zachary’ means “God has remembered”, and he will continue to be remembered and loved by his family every day.
