Timothy P. Lober

Timothy P. Lober, affectionately known as Tim and Timmy, was born on August 25, 1965, and unexpectedly passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 16, 2026, at the age of 60, in Milwaukee, WI. He leaves behind a vibrant legacy woven through his passion for the culinary arts, performance, and a boundless love for life.

A proud graduate of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in 1983, Tim pursued his dreams with relentless determination. He furthered his education, earning an associate's degree in Hospitality from Moraine Park Tech College and another associate's degree from Southeastern Academy in Travel. His career flourished as a chef at esteemed establishments such as Pasta Tree, Pieces of Eight, Oakland Café in Milwaukee, and Painted Lady in Newburg. Known for his creativity and flair, Tim didn’t just work in restaurants; he became synonymous with hospitality, performing as the MC of a weekly event at the Town House/Black Hart in St. Paul, MN. His charisma and unique style captivated all who had the pleasure of being in his presence.

Tim was much more than a culinary artist; he was a joy-filled spirit whose light sparkled in every moment. Described as one of a kind, with a vibrant and fun personality, he had a flair for the dramatic and a knack for storytelling that would leave his audience captivated. His love for life was evident in his numerous interests—traveling to places like Palm Springs and New York, immersing himself in the world of Broadway with over 1,000 shows attended, gardening, and hiking the breathtaking trails of Minnesota State Parks with his partner, Spencer.

Tim's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his special companion of 36 years, John Spencer Shafer, his beloved mother, Marlene Lober (nee Gresens), and his siblings Matthew (Charlene) Lober, Rebecca (Robert) Johnson, and Andrew (special friend Chris) Lober. He fondly held close his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sharon Olson, Gary (Mary) Shafer, Cindy (Jim) Flood, Kim (Mike) Riley, and Paula Lober. Tim also cherished his wider family, including aunts and uncles Robert (Janice) Gresens, Daniel (Phyllis) Gresens, and Randy (Diane) Durst, along with 20 nieces and nephews, many cousins, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lober, as well as both sets of grandparents, Arnold and Emma Lober, and Walter and Violet Gresens. Tim also remembered the loss of his aunts and uncles, Marion & Ron Manthe, Emma Jean Krebs, Patricia Durst, and John & Anna Lober, as well as brother-in-law Jim Olson and cousins Susan Cooper and Debra Krebs.

A celebration of Tim’s remarkable life will be held with a Visitation on February 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:45 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM, all at Mueller Funeral Homes, located at 979 N Green Bay Rd, Grafton, WI 53024.
