Rudolph Henry Milton Zarling Jr.

Rudolph Henry Milton Zarling Jr., affectionately known as "Rudy," peacefully passed away on August 1, 2026, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. He was born on May 31, 1931, in Kirchhayn, Wisconsin and graduated from Cedarburg High School. Rudy served his country with honor in the Air Force, assisted in the development of jet propulsion system. It was during this time that he also discovered his passion for singing, joining barbershop quartets that brought joy and entertainment to many. 

After his military service, Rudy transitioned into the world of finance as a financial planner, founding his own business and making a meaningful impact in the lives of his clients. In June of 1957, he married the love of his life, Carol nee Griesbach, their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Denise Zarling and Nola (Brian) Zemlicka. Rudy's commitment to family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially his grandson, Ethan Zemlicka. 

Rudy's thirst for knowledge and education led him to help establish the Northern Cross Science Foundation, where he contributed to the pursuit of scientific inquiry and discovery. Additionally, Rudy took on the role of a Ronald McDonald in the Green Bay district, bringing smiles and laughter to many. His love for music remained a cornerstone of his life, participating in many barbershop quartets throughout his life. His talents culminating in his quartet winning the title of International Seniors Champions in 2001, a testament to his dedication and passion for the craft. 

Rudy is survived by his daughters, Denise Zarling and Nola (Brian) Zemlicka; his beloved grandson, Ethan Zemlicka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Zarling Sr. and Elsie Mueller; his wife, Carol Griesbach; and his brother, Ivan Zarling as well as his infant brother Glen Zarling. 

A funeral service in memory of Rudy will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, - 2:00 PM at David's Star Lutheran Church, 2740 Davids Star Drive, Jackson, WI 53037.Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery following service. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Rudy’s remarkable life, a life filled with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit of generosity. In lieu of flowers memorials to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary – Compelled Campaign or to The Barbershop Harmony Society are appreciated.
