Robert “Bob” E. Schuette
Of Port Washington, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born on September 22, 1945, in Milwaukee to the late Bill and Frances (nee Gohn) Schuette.
Bob grew up in West Allis and was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School (’63). He went on to get a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and followed that with service in the Army Reserves. He married Patricia (Pat) in 1967, which began their family. He thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Jaycees in Illinois and Wisconsin in his younger years. Bob worked in Production Control and Supply Chain Management, with his career taking his family to many places including Chicago, Brown Deer, WI, Winchester, VA, and Wooster, OH. At work, Bob was always ready with a logical solution to a problem. At home, he was the person to go to for practical advice.
Like his father, he was very proud of his Wisconsin and Norwegian heritage. Christmas would often include eating sandbakkels and listening to ‘Yogi Yorgesson’. His dry midwestern humor and quick wit always livened things up. Along with his proud heritage was a love for Badger Football and The Pack. He enjoyed woodworking, and most of all, fishing in his spare time, especially with his son and grandkids. A big ‘dog guy’, all dogs (especially the grand dogs) would hang out with him more than anyone else, a testament to his kind and patient soul.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat (nee Ofner), son, Paul (Tami), daughter, Karen (Jim) Umbreit, and grandchildren, Hannah, Sydney, Daniel, Jack, Brady and Dylan. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Barbara Luedke and Sue Schuette, brother-in-law, Larry Ofner, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Frances, and brother, Phil.
The family would like to thank Bob’s caregivers at the Aurora Grafton Medical Center and Horizon Hospice for their compassionate care of Bob.
