With heavy hearts, we share that Robert “Bob” A. Harrison passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on December 13, 2025.
Born December 12, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Gerald Harrison and Nancy (Naczek) Harrison. Bob was on wheels as soon as he was able and shared stories of his Schwinn bicycle rides around the neighborhood. A proud graduate of Custer High, he maintained close friendships over the years with many classmates. His interest in “things that go” turned into a career that included award-winning classic car restoration, building Hovercrafts, and working on campers as he approached retirement. He treasured and rebuilt Mustangs in his free time and traveled every back road he could find on his Harley Davidson. Also a race enthusiast, Bob found great enjoyment attending the Indy 500 annually and watching every Indy car race he could. A summer wasn’t complete without a few trips to Road America either.
Most importantly, Bob was dedicated to and endlessly proud of his family. Married to the love of his life, Tammy (Roy) Harrison on March 5, 1983, they found immeasurable joy watching their daughters grow up, get married, and have families of their own. Jennifer and Ilya Khotimsky, Shelby and Chad Pape, and Kelly and Adam Oswald gave them eight Grands in total, and the treasured nickname, Bumpa. Pavel and Anya, Natalie, Hailey and Dylan, and Kason, Adylen and Delsie, who was born too soon and awaits us all in Heaven. Self-proclaimed BumPAW to Zac, Timber and Yoshi, the dogs who were always excited to see him. Bob lovingly cared for his mother, Nancy, since her second husband, William Penterman, and daughter, Susan Gaertig, passed away. He is further survived by his brothers Jeffrey (Sue) Harrison of Washington, and Gerald (Joann) Harrison of Florida, the Roy family and so many nieces, nephews and friends.
By the grace of God, many skilled medical professionals along the way, and generous blood donors, we were able to spend extra decades with Bob after a snowmobile accident, multiple surgeries and three battles with cancer. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask all who are able, to donate blood in his honor. Doing so changes lives that reach far beyond the recipient.
The family will hold his tribute on Sunday December 28, 2025. Visitation from 3:00-4:45, with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 to be held at Open Door Bible Church at 3420 County Road LL, Port Washington, WI.
We would like to thank Mueller Funeral home for compassionately helping us carry out his final wishes, and also the lovely staff at Lawlis Hospice in Mequon, WI for their care in his final days.
