Robert "Bob" H. Schmidt, 85, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born on December 6, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bob was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by a deep love for his family.
Bob dedicated 32 years of his professional life to Outboard Marine, previously known as Evinrude, where he built a reputation not only for his work ethic but also for his infectious sense of humor and warm personality. He was known for having a big heart and the ability to make others laugh, a true testament to his jovial nature.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the Army and was stationed in Libya, North Africa. He held steadfast pride in his military service and love for his country, values that resonated deeply in his character.
Beyond his career and military service, Bob found joy in hobbies that connected him to nature and the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed these activities immensely, often sharing these passions with his family and friends.
Bob was a long-time member of Redeemer Church in Cedarburg. His faith played an integral role in his life, guiding him through both triumphs and challenges.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen (nee Zeretzke); his sons, Gregory (Judy) and Johnathan (Janet); grandsons Daniel and Anthony; and great-grandsons Sam and Owen. Bob is further survived by other relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret Schmidt, and his brother, Alfred Jr. Bob's legacy is one of love to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
