Richard M. Merkel

Richard M. Merkel age 83 of Grafton, passed away Saturday February 29, 2020 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. Born June 2, 1936 in Milwaukee to Roman & Doris (Bredl) Merkel, he was a self employed iron worker before retirement. Richard enjoyed skeet shooting, trap shooting, sporting clays, hunting and was a shooting instructor. On his last hunting trip to Montana in October, he shot 2 deer. He was also a member of the Saukville Gun Club, The Waukesha Gun Club and the Wild Wings Sportman’s Club. Richard is survived by his children, Patricia (Mark) Merkel-Brunnquell, Pam (John) Strohbusch) Merkel and Alicia McNally; grandchildren, Jacob Brunnquell, Zachary Brunnquell, Micaela Brunnquell, Joshua Brunnquell and Kylie Strohbusch; and a nephew, John Michael Berst.
