Richard "Dick" J. Matasek, a devoted family man and respected member of his community, passed away suddenly at home on December 29, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on January 7, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dick lived a life marked by service and love of family and friends.

After completing his education at Rufus King High School, class of 1948, Dick furthered his studies by obtaining an Associate's Degree at Milwaukee Vocational School. His commitment to service extended beyond academics as he served in the National Guard at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin.

For over 40 years, Dick made significant contributions to the A.O. Smith Corporation, where he held the positions of manager of Steel Standards and Account Executive. Dick worked side by side with his brother Loren and shared a close bond throughout their working years at the same company.

Beyond his professional life, Dick was known for his quiet demeanor and joyful spirit. He took great pride in being the organizer of family gatherings and enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. His hobbies included playing sheepshead with friends from A.O. Smith, bowling, engaging in yardwork and boating on Okauchee Lake.

Dick was deeply involved in his community and church, spending countless hours volunteering alongside his beloved wife, Judith "Judy" Matasek (nee Smalley), whom he married in 1958. Together, they made lasting memories on family vacations, participating in many church functions and volunteering at the Marcus Performing Arts Center where they formed strong connections within their community.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his son, David E. (Barbara) Matasek, along with their son, Andrew (Kathryn) and great-granddaughter Caroline; his daughter, Deborah L. (Mark) Stalsberg, and their children, Kristin and Jacob; and his son, Jeffery A. (Xiaoping He) Matasek, and their children, Colin and Darren. Dick is also survived by his brother, Loren (Helen and the late Georgie) Matasek.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Matasek and Eleanor (nee Schaeffer), as well as his brother, Thomas (Elaine) Matasek.

A visitation will be held on January 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brown Deer United Methodist Church, located at 5736 W. Brown Deer Rd., Brown Deer, WI 53223 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. A light lunch will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Brown Deer United Methodist Church.

Dick Matasek's legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. His gentle spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed.
