Raymond William George Fischer

Raymond William George “Ray” Fischer, born May 28, 1930, in Jackson, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 11, 2026, in West Bend, Wisconsin. His long and meaningful life touched many, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Ray treasured every moment spent with his children and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of their fondest memories will be the tractor rides he eagerly gave around the family dairy farm. The farm itself was one of his greatest passions. He loved caring for the land and the many animals that called it home.

In retirement, Ray enjoyed taking his Ford Model T out for a drive and taught himself to play the concertina. Ray also enjoyed collecting tractors and farm toys. He found happiness tending to his garden and enjoyed spending time alongside his beloved wife, Vi, helping her with her various projects and making their home a gathering place for visitors.

Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Viola Fischer nee Gierach, who was his steadfast companion throughout 70 years of marriage. His three daughters—Claudia (Rev. Mark) Ziemer, Laurie (Joel) Luepke, and Donna (Cary) Goranson.

His grandchildren—Nathaniel (Corrie) Ziemer, Andy (Sarah) Ziemer, Amanda (Jake) Wedeberg, Margaret (Theo Kleinsorge) Viola, and Adam (Grace) Luepke—his influence lives on through his great-grandchildren: Zoe, Mara, Mark; Owen, Emma and Ellie Ziemer; Claire, Lauren, and Jens Wedeberg. He is further survived by many family members, many friends and special friends and neighbors Eddie and Bonnie Bublitz.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, William and Adeline Fischer, and his brother Ted Fischer.

Raymond William George “Ray” Fischer will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
