Michael P Hackett, 62, of Grafton passed away on March 17, 2026.
Michael was born on November 21st, 1963. Michael attended St. Monica Grade School, Dominican High School and Marquette University.
Michael was a talented carpenter and architect. In 1993 he founded Building and Design Specialists where he and his team led the construction and remodel of homes throughout the Milwaukee area.
In 2012 Michael joined R Hackett & Company, Inc. where he managed the Greenfield Red Wing Shoe store and led the company’s industrial sales efforts. Through his and his team’s efforts he built a citywide reputation for superior customer care that resulted in steady growth for the company. In 2024 Michael became President and co-owner of RHC, Inc.
Michael loved the outdoors. He was an avid volleyball and pickleball player. He looked forward to annual trips to the boundary waters with great friends and family, playing his guitar and singing around the campfire. He was well known for his boat which he used to fish and shepherd family and friends on Lake Michigan, in the northern lakes and up and down the Milwaukee River.
He loved music and had a beautiful voice. He would stay up late into the night playing his guitar and writing new songs. He threw an annual party on the creek-side backyard patio that he built by hand. He was a great cook and was famous for his chicken wings and popcorn. His ability to make alfredo sauce was unmatched.
Michael defined himself as a Dad, Sam’s Dad. Loving, teaching and encouraging Sam brought Michael complete joy. He was a kind and gentle soul who was selfless with his time and his assistance to any friend or family member in need.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Rosemary Hackett.
He is survived by his son Sampson Hackett, his longtime love Jackie Heard and his beautiful wish daughter Siena Rose. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters; Kevin P Hackett, Laura M Hackett Knain (Matt), Jack P Hackett (Kelly) and Claire E Hackett (Patrick) and his former wife and Sam’s mom, Maureen Hackett.
Michael leaves behind many close friends, none dearer than his lifelong “other brother” Tony Morton and his wife Holly.
Funeral service in memory of Michael will take place Friday, May 1st at 4pm at St Monica Catholic Church, 5681 N Santa Monica Blvd, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217. Visitation will be held at the church from 3pm until mass begins.
