Mary E. Kurgan

Mary E. Kurgan, a cherished figure in the lives of many, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on October 27, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on November 17, 1954, Mary leaves behind a loving family, including her children Michelle (Reuben) Kurgan Valenzuela, Laura (Cory) Caldarazzo, Karen (Peter) Sohnle, Kelly (John) Donoghue, Tracy (Anthony) Leto, and Matthew (Amanda) Kurgan, along with eleven grandchildren. Mary is further survived by many friends and family members. Mary’s legacy will live on in the countless hearts she touched. She was a true natural with children and loved spending time with her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Bubby”. With them, she enjoyed crafting, playing outside, reading, and more. For the last few years, Mary worked as a school lunch lady, a job that she loved and took great pride in. She took immense joy in working with children, delighting in their laughter and smiles. In her role as a lunch lady, she forged connections that made her a beloved presence, enriching the lives of both students and staff alike. Mary enjoyed the simple things in life: cooking, her plants, and her beloved dog and best friend, Joey. Though she may have departed from this world, the memories of Mary will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved her. Her kindness, resilience, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but remembered with a warmth that reflects the loving life she led. There will be a memorial service for Mary on Friday, November 21st at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg, WI with a visitation from 3:30pm-5:00pm and a memorial service immediately following.
