Marion ‘Mary’ D. Hamann (nee Wilde), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on November 10th, 2025 at the age of 95 in her home located in Boynton Beach, Florida. Born March 13th, 1930 in Freistadt, Wisconsin, everyone who knew her saw what a precious and loving person she was and continues to be. She could never say goodbye to anyone without shedding a few tears.
A graduate of Cedarburg High School, she married Ervin H. Hamann, Jr. on October 28th, 1950. Mother of three children, she was a homemaker and also worked in the family construction business in Wisconsin. Upon moving to Lake Worth Florida in 1971, she also helped in running the family bar and restaurant until it was sold in 1984. Mary loved football and loved her Packers. She and Erv had season tickets before there was a Lambeau Field and they were in attendance at the famous 1967 Ice Bowl against Dallas. Later, she adopted another team to cheer for, the Florida Gators. Everyone who knew her saw how much she liked her routine. Nearly every morning began with a long walk except on Saturdays when she went to the salon. She had to get her hair done so she could look beautiful for the Sunday church service. As she got older, the walks got a little shorter but she always had a story about who she met or waved to on that morning’s walk. Mary also enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder and nothing gave her more of a thrill than seeing a hummingbird buzz around the feeder.
Being the youngest child of 8, she was surrounded by many nieces and nephews whom she cared for deeply and always loved being around. When she became a great-grandmother, her joy was made complete. Mary’s bedroom wall was adorned with pictures of the two girls from infancy to young adulthood.
Mary is survived by her sons Dale (Margret) Hamann and Daniel Hamann; her daughter Maureen ‘Dolly’ (Fred) Coppola; her grandchildren Heather (Mark) Robison and Ryan Hamann; and her cherished great-grandchildren Amber and Isabella Robison. Mary is preceded in death by her former husband Ervin, her parents Theadore and Martha (nee Boeder) Wilde, and her siblings Armin Wilde, Erna Bert, Florence Wilde, Ethel Loppnow, Melvin Wilde, Ilma Friess, and Martha Dries.
The family has decided to delay the celebration of her life until 2026. She will be laid to rest at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg next to her twin sister, Martha. There will be a church service at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg followed by a reception. The date and details will be announced as soon as possible and it will be posted on social media to help get the word out. In the meantime, if anyone has pictures or other memorabilia they would like to share, please contact Dan Hamann at danhamann@bellsouth.net.
John 14: 2-3 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
