Lester F. Riebe

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 6:00pm at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg for Lester F. Riebe, lifelong resident of Cedarburg who died on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Lasata Care Center from natural causes at the age of 90 years. Interment will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Zur Ruhe Cemetery next to his wife, Erema. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 4:00pm to 5:45pm. Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church or Lasata Care Center appreciated. Lester was born on Friday, December 5, 1924 in Cedarburg, WI , the son of the late Gustav and Elenora (nee Miske) Riebe. Lester was inducted into the Army during WWII on June 16, 1943 and was honorably discharged on April 17, 1946. Lester married Erema Kohlwey on June 11, 1949 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grafton and they were blessed with 2 children. Erema preceded him in death in 1994. He was a proud veteran and a member of the American Legion Peter Wollner Post 288 in Cedarburg. He worked in Grafton very many years as a precision machinist and he also owned Riebe’s Grocery Store in Cedarburg. Lester was a passive member of the Cedarburg Fire Department. He was the only remaining charter member in the Men’s Club at First Immanuel Lutheran Church. Beloved husband of the late Erema. Loving father of David (Debie) Riebe of Grafton and Caryl (Joseph) Giuliani of Cedarburg. Proud grandfather of Sheila (fiance’ Chris Bolser) Kinnunen of Florida, Tanya (Travis) Thiede of Green Bay, Courtney (Conrad Sniegowski) Riebe of Florida, Allison (fiance’ Chris Meunier) Riebe of Appleton and Nikolas Giuliani of Cedarburg and great-grandfather of Samuel Thiede. Brother of Margaret Bay of Cedarburg and Florence Bleeke of Brookfield. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
