Kay S. Groth

Kay S. Groth, age 86, of Grand Marais, MN died on Monday July 7th at Carefree Living in Silver Bay, MN. She was born February 25, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI to Mert and Joyce Heuer.

On September 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jerome Groth in Milwaukee, WI. In 1960 they moved to California where they spent the first 18 years of their marriage starting their family.

Kay was an avid gardener and had a vast knowledge of plants and flowers. She loved photography and even submitted her photographs to the local paper in Sturgeon Bay, WI where they were published. She loved to bake and was an outstanding wife and mother. She loved gathering the family together for meals. She served in many ways helping where she could in hospitals, church and community.

Kay is survived by her husband, Jerry and her four children. Mark, Mike (Peggy), Mary (Tim), Matt (Nancy); and 4 grandchildren: Aaron, Andrea, Josh (Michelle), Hannah (Bill) and one great-grandson (Graham).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mert and Joyce Heuer, her brother, Kip and her granddaughter, Amanda.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Aponte and Dr. Delfs and all the staff at Carefree Living in Silver Bay for the great care she received in the 2 weeks she spent there.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 3:00 PM at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, WI. W63 N642 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI. 53012 with Pastor Alexis Twito presiding. The family will greet visitors at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
