Karen Johnston (nee Haase)

Karen went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2026, at the age of 71 years. A celebration of her life will take place at Vineyard Church, 1597 Co Hwy V, Grafton, on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 2:00PM, with visitation from 12:00PM – 2:00PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Harvest Home Senior Living are appreciated, who showed her such exceptional care.

Karen was born to James & Florence (nee Powichrowski) Haase in Thiensville. She graduated with honors in physical therapy at UW-Madison. She was a skilled therapist at Columbia Hospital and later in home care. She married her husband Phillip in 1986 and moved to our beloved Grafton in 1990.

She is survived by her brother: Thomas Haase, brother-in-law: Michael (Denise) Johnston, and sisters-in-law: Leslie (Rick) Moritz, Mary Jo (Randy) Krajenka and Jill Johnston. She is further survived by many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews & nieces.

Karen was a wonderfully warm person who was devoted to the Lord and demonstrated her love when you needed it most. Anyone who was her friend treasured her unique gift of joy.

My special thanks is extended to our amazing family members, friends and caregivers who supported us as we faced dementia together. May God bless others who are now courageously facing this and those providing such care. She is now with the Lord in fullness of joy.
