Judith "Judy" Ann Van Matre

Judith “Judy” Ann Van Matre (nee Gretzinger), of Grafton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 31, 1941, to Earl and Lillian Gretzinger. She married her husband of 45 years, Harlan Van Matre in 1973. 

After graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, she built a rewarding career in retail management across Wisconsin and Texas. She had a passion for flowers and gardening. Judy and Harlan enjoyed cruises and annually traveled to Hawaii after retirement. 

Judy is survived by her sons, Michael Kaldenberg, and Alan Kaldenberg, both of Wisconsin; her daughter, Lillian Garcia, of Texas; 11 grandchildren, Courtney, Payton, Taylor, Chandler, Megan, Audra, Johnny, Michelle, Mikayla, Aldolfo, and Griffin; and 8 great-grandchildren. Judy is also survived by her loving siblings, Jerry (Rita) Gretzinger, Ken (Dar) Gretzinger, Debbie (John) Frost, and Connie (Greg) Dahlman; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Kaldenberg; and son-in-law, Charles Perrizo, along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members. 

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Harlan; her parents, Earl and Lillian; her son Chris Kaldenberg; and her daughter Leslie Perrizo. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. 

In honor of Judy’s life, visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg on September 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials of your choice be made in her memory.
