Joan M. Zajork (nee Napo), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family in West Bend, WI. Born February 28, 1931, in Michigan, Joan embodied the essence of a kind and sweet lady, cherished by all who knew her.
Joan's life was marked by her deep commitment to her family and her passions. She was a proud member of the St. Francis Borgia parish, having joined the church upon her relocation to Cedarburg in 2004. Her faith played a pivotal role in her life, enriching her spirit and the lives of those around her.
An avid golfer, Joan showcased her skills by winning the championship at Brown Deer Park Golf Course two years in a row, a feat that reflected her competitive yet gracious nature.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Christine (Robert) Gill and Julie (David) Zygowski; her treasured grandchildren, Zachary Gill and Julia (Blake) Kunz and Jacob and Ashley Zygowski; and her great-granddaughter, Courtland Kunz. She also leaves behind her niece, Carol (the late Franco) DiPietrantonio, and her nephews, Richard (Linda) Zajork and Robert (Janice) Zajork.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, her loving parents, Louie Napo and Louise (nee Boscia), and her daughter, Marie, along with her siblings, Dominic Napo, Louise (Dudley) Chafee, and Anita Napo.
The entirety of her life will be celebrated on November 18, 2025, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church-North in Cedarburg, WI, with a visitation at 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM and a burial at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Mequon at 1:15 PM. Joan’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a lasting legacy of love and warmth. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the BrightFocus Foundation (www.brightfocus.org) are appreciated.
