Jack Lee Feurig, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 25, 1943, to Gustav Arther Feurig and Elizabeth Ann Beckman, Jack grew up in New London, Wisconsin, and graduated from Washington High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 1966.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was honored with several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
Following his military service, Jack built a successful career and retired from Outboard Marine Corporation. A lifelong lover of the water, he was an avid boater who spent countless joyful summers with family and friends on the Wolf River. His passion for boating was matched only by his love for people—he was a true friend, a wise advisor, and a steady presence in the lives of many.
Jack was affectionately known as “Jailhouse Jack” by the community, a nickname earned from his frequent visits to a local restaurant where he formed many lasting friendships. His warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his two beloved wives, Nancy Feurig (Hartung) and Patricia Feurig (Beveridge). He is survived by his devoted daughter, Heidi Feurig, who cherishes the deep bond they shared and aspires to carry on his legacy of kindness and mentorship. Jack is also survived by his sister Sandy Murphy; brothers Bruce Feurig and Ted Feurig; nephew Tim Michael (Connie Michael) and their children, Kate and Luke.
Jack’s life was a testament to loyalty, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 – 4:00 PM at David Star Ev. Lutheran Church 2740 David’s Star Dr. Jackson, WI. Rev. Kurt Loescher officiating. Visitation will be held on Wed. at the church from 2:00 PM – 3:45 PM. Full Military Honors to follow the service.
