Harold W. Schroeder of Thiensville, WI peacefully passed surrounded by his loving family on June 22, 2025 at the age of 95. He was born on May 10, 1930 in Milwaukee WI to his late parents Herbert and Florence Schroeder (nee Kiepper). He was united in marriage to the love of his life Joan, (nee Leonhardt). Together their marriage of 73 years was blessed with 4 children: Gail, Nancy, Jim and Amy. Harold attended Custer High School graduating in 1948. He attended trade school for carpentry, working as a carpenter until drafted into the Army in 1951. September of '51 brought marriage to his sweetheart Joan and deployment to Germany. The following years were filled with family, church and building homes. Founding Herb Schroeder and Sons Custom Homes with brothers Richard and Robert, he embarked on his life work. In retirement and skilled in woodworking, Harold carved many beautiful pieces, especially ducks. He will be sorely missed.
Harold is survived by his 4 children: Gail (Richard) von Trebra, Nancy (Mark) La Bissoniere, Jim (Jean Ravetto) Schroeder and Amy (Rainer) Prawitz. Dearest grandpa of Kristi, Kalin, Bryan, William, Alexander and Kai. Cherished great grandpa of 11 loving great grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by Herbert and Florence (nee Kiepper); in-laws Ervin and Adella Leonhardt; dear brothers: Richard (Delores) and Robert (Carolyn).
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 – 1:30 PM at First Immanuel Lutheran Church W67 N622 Evergreen Blvd. Cedarburg. Military honors to follow the service at church. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 PM – 1:15 PM. Private family interment will be held at St. Johns UCC Cemetery in Germantown.
