It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary D. Landers, who unexpectedly departed this world on January 12, 2026, in Thiensville, Wisconsin at the age of 71. Born on April 11, 1954, Gary dedicated his life to both his career and the passion he had for family and friends.
Graduating from Homestead High School in Mequon, Gary pursued further education at the University of Oshkosh in Wisconsin. His professional journey began in 1980 at Pro Engineering/Manufacturing Inc., where he utilized his skills in IT until his untimely passing. Additionally, Gary showcased his multi-faceted talents by bartending for several years, known for both his expertise and his dry sense of humor.
Gary was an individual of remarkable intellect and technical prowess, a reputation that resonated through his work and personal life. He was not only known for his extremely intelligent tech skills, but also for being a caring and straightforward individual who touched the lives of many around him. His faith as a God-fearing Christian man guided him in all facets of life, allowing him to offer counsel and support to both friends and family alike.
Beyond his career, Gary cherished his hobbies, which included fishing, working on his beloved Ford Bronco, and spending quality time with his family. Renowned for his love of Sunday dinners and lunch gatherings, he relished the moments shared with his nieces, nephews, and siblings. He was a proud uncle who greatly valued his role within the family, always eager to impart wisdom and joy to the younger generations.
Gary's legacy will be carried on through his surviving family members: his siblings, Diane Bargenquast and David Landers; his cherished nieces and nephews, Mark (Lisa) Bargenquast, Bridget (Robert) Stiffler, Charles (Danielle) Summers, Lindsay (Edward) Lanser, and Logan Landers; his great nieces and nephews, Ava Bargenquast, Brayden Bargenquast, Alexandra Banks, Javon Holz, Isaiah Holz, McKenzie Schmidt, and Jeremiah Summers; former sister-in-law, Lauren Landers; along with many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Landers; mother, Elaine Landers (née Berdelman); brother, Greg Landers; and brother-in-law, Bill Bargenquast.
As we reflect upon the remarkable life of Gary D. Landers, we remember a man whose presence brought laughter, guidance, and love to all who knew him. His memory will remain in our hearts, inspiring us to live with the same spirit of generosity and kindness that he exemplified throughout his life.
There will be a memorial service held for Gary at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. A visitation will begin at 3:00 PM till service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
