Francyne Johnson was born to eternal life surrounded by her loving family, on February 5, 2026 at the age of 80.
She was born on March 23, 1945 in Ironwood, MI to Benjamin and Ann Finco. She graduated from Luther L. Wright School in 1963. Francyne married the love of her life, Thomas A. Johnson in 1964. They were blessed with three wonderful daughters, with whom Francyne was very close.
Francyne was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family. She cherished being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Family was always at the center of Francyne’s life. She loved to travel and was intentional about sharing that passion with her family, taking her children and grandchildren on many memorable vacations where lifelong memories were made and treasured. She shared a close bond with her siblings and made frequent trips back home to spend time with them, valuing those connections deeply. Her love, generosity, and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew her, and her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.
Francyne worked at Aurora St. Luke’s and West Allis Memorial Hospital as a Loss Prevention Officer for many years, retiring in 2010 as a well respected officer and gaining many beautiful friendships.
Francyne is survived by her three daughters, Monica (Dave) Stern, Christine (Jeff) Prucha, and Jennifer (Mark) Ruechel; as well as her nine beloved grandchildren: Rachel (Phil), Hunter, Ben (Mickie), Logan, Spencer, Olivia, Marissa, Hayden, and Elicia; her siblings, Ben (Bev) Finco, Ginnie (Beet) Anderson, Mark (LuAnn) Finco, and Dan (Vicky) Finco; her sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Ron) Ulvila and Carolyn Johnson, along with many family members and loved ones who all held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, her sister Gail, her brother Tom, and her brother-in-law John. She will be deeply missed but always lovingly remembered.
The family would like to thank the staff of Horizon’s Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon for providing Francyne and her family with the utmost comfort and respectful care during her final days.
A celebration of Francyne’s life will be held on Thursday, February12, 2026 at Crossroads Church 6031 West Chapel Hill Road, Mequon, WI with service starting at 1:00PM. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral service from 11:00AM -12:45PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. (MACC Fund), or His House Christian Fellowship (Specific staff person: Phil & Rachel Bielak) are appreciated. These charities were close to Francyne’s heart as she was a breast cancer survivor, her granddaughter received lifesaving care for leukemia at the MACC Fund Clinic, and her granddaughter provides campus ministry services to college students through His House.
