Edward C. Fausel left this world on May 20, 2026, after a long and difficult illness. Eddie was born into a close-knit family on Milwaukee’s east side. He graduated from Riverside High School. Eddie and wife Linda resided on the east side and then Bay View for years. Five years ago, they moved to Port Washington and then purchased a condo in Grafton in 2025. Retired in 2018, Ed was a proud employee of the City of Milwaukee Sanitation Department. Eddie was also a star husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He changed his life as a long-time friend of Bill W.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, cherished brother, Dan, and best friend Robert Donnelly. Ed is survived by his wife, sons Brandon and Tyler, (and chosen son, Kyle), adored grandchildren Devon, Anika, Ella, and Rowan, (Mohit and Samantha), sisters Noreen, Catherine (Fred), Mary (Greg), brother Billy (Cindy), sister in-laws Cece (Dan) and Kris, brothers-in-law Gerry (Pam) and Randy. Eddie’s fur kids are cat Finnigan and best dog Renny. Eddie is also loved and remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Eddie’s friendly smile matched his zest for living. His quick wit and one-liners landed with a good-natured zing. Surrounded on the job by a few yahoos who liked to tease him about his height, Eddie earned their respect with his resolute work ethic. Making people laugh, especially his wife and mother-in-law, Rosie, was Ed’s goal. Eddie’s favorite place was either a golf course anywhere in Wisconsin with his brother Dan and friends Bruce and Debbie, his chair in front of the TV watching the Bucks, Brewers or Packers with his son, Tyler, and grandson Dev, or spending time dancing and traveling with his wife. Family game nights brought stiff competitions with Brandon and Tyler. A self-taught drummer, Eddie dazzled in the high school jazz band. Later in life he played rock and jazz percussion. Ed could also build pretty much anything, which resulted in creative improvements to his beloved Bay View home, like a floor to ceiling bookcase and deck over the garage. And, like his wife, Eddie loved animals and together they logged miles along the shore of Lake Michigan, tossing tennis balls for dogs Piper and Ren. Cats are family, too, and in addition to his boy Finn, cats Emily, Onyx, Mia, Jett, Simone, and Iris along with dogs Rox and Kelly left pawprints on Eddie’s kind heart.
Eddie is deeply missed by his wife and family. Donations in Eddie’s name to the Urban Cat Coalition or Lucky Mutts are appreciated. Big thank you to Horizon Home Care & Hospice and stellar nurses Julia, Johanna and Terry.
Tu me manques You are gone from me. I will try to survive till we meet again, my forever love.
A memorial service for Ed will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory in Grafton with Rev. Bob Bagley officiating. Visitation will start at 3PM till service time.
