Dorothy Mae Kennedy

Dorothy Mae Kennedy (nee Moore) of Cedarburg went to her heavenly home on February 17, 2016 at the age of 85. Dorothy was a friend and teacher to all. She had a quick sense of humor, was fiercely loyal, a great listener who never judged and considered her family to be her greatest accomplishment. Dorothy was born in Shullsburg, WI on August 15, 1930 the daughter of the late Charles Arnold & Olive (nee Tiffany) Moore. She grew up in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, where she met and married the love of her life, Frank Kennedy, in 1953. They raised their three children, Mark, Kevin and Denise, here in Cedarburg, where she taught at St Francis Borgia School for many years. Dorothy was an avid golfer and member at West Bend Country Club, where she and Frank shared good times golfing with their friends. She enjoyed traveling with Frank, and together they explored Ireland, Australia, and the United States. Her later years were devoted to caring for Frank as he battled Alzheimer’s disease. She took enormous pride in her children and their accomplishments, and in her nine grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly, Ryan, Meghann, Andrew, and Christina Kennedy; and Conor, Kevin and Sean Moakley. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her. She brought much joy into many lives and her memory will continue to be a role model to all who knew her. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26 – 1:00 PM at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, Cedarburg. Interment will be in St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Feb. 26 from 12 Noon – 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Francis & Dorothy Kennedy Scholarship Fund (CCSF) appreciated.
