Donald E. Silldorff

Donald E. Silldorff of Mequon passed away peacefully on Thursday August 21, 2014 at Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg at the age of 88 years. Don was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 5, 1926 to the late Julius & Elsie (nee Bernhard) Silldorff and married Beverly (nee Bartel) on May 31, 1952 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. Don was a long time active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Freistadt. He was a mechanical engineer in the Milwaukee area for over 40 years. He played in the Freistadt Alte Kameraden Band for 44 years, and was a member of the Cedarburg Civic Band for many years. He started the Mequon Historical Society, and was a member of the City of Mequon Landmark Commission from 1981 to present. Don is survived by his wife Beverly of Mequon, sister; Mardel (Sam) Foust of Plymouth, MN, sister-in-law; Alice Bartel of Brown Deer. He was preceded in death by his brother; Burton and sister; Maxine Peterson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 26, 7 PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church 10729 W. Freistadt Rd. Mequon. Interment church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 5 – 6:45 PM. Memorials to the church or the Mequon Thiensville Historical Society appreciated.
