Darleen H. Sell

Darleen H. Sell (nee Helriegel), most recently of Mequon, entered into heavenly rest on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the age of 83 years.

She was born on November 19, 1941, in Sibley County, MN to the late Burton J. and Louise (nee Wiese) Helriegel. She was married on June 10, 1961, in Gaylord, MN, and recently celebrated 64 years with her husband, Norman D. Sell. Together, they raised two children. Darleen was a lifelong believer of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and most recently, a devoted member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church – Freistadt. For over 40 years, in St. Louis, MO, she relished volunteering for many different LCMS Organizations (for which Norman worked), but especially Ascension Lutheran Church, in St. Louis Hills. She also enjoyed crafting, quilting, and reading. In addition to traveling to conventions with her husband, they loved spending time as snowbirds in Mesa, AZ. Her most treasured activity, however, was spending her time with family and friends.

Darleen leaves behind her husband, Norman; her children: Wayne (Cheryl) Sell and Melanie (the late Stephen) Petsch; her grandchildren: Andrew (Betsy) Sell, Allen (Joanna) Sell, Heather (Matthew) Vahl, Morgan (Eric) Vogel, Alex (Bethany) Petsch, and Eric Petsch (Halle Luksich); and her great-grandchildren: Thaddaeus, Linford, and Dagny Sell, Teagan, Matthew, Raelynn, and Olivia Sell, and Lucille and Gibson Vogel.

A private family interment will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in Darleen’s name, to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Freistadt or charity of your choosing.
