Clarence J. Savadil Jr., a distinguished Senior Vice President at Firstar (formerly First Wisconsin) who deeply valued his family, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Mequon, Wisconsin. Born on June 22, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Clarence lived his life with dedication to both a professional career and his loved ones.
Feeling great commitment to the United States, Clarence served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1961, earning a Good Conduct Medal in 1958. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earned a bachelor's degree that laid a strong foundation for a successful career in the banking industry. During his time at Firstar, he demonstrated leadership and commitment, and rose to eventually become a Senior Vice President. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Clarence was known for a distinct sense of humor, a trait which endeared family, friends and colleagues.
Clarence was an avid golfer, cherishing time spent on the course with his wife at Tripoli Country Club. Clarence was also a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville, rarely missing a Tuesday service. He put great effort into to maintaining and caring for his home in Mequon, and tending to its gardens and lawn to keep them in impeccable order.
One of the greatest parts of Clarence’s character was a deep devotion to his family. He was a loving father, with a heart that knew both great joys and sorrows. His death was preceded by his beloved wife, Lillian (nee Malzahn), and their two children: Denise Cifuentes, who passed away unexpectedly in 2023, and James, who died at the young age of 13 from osteogenic sarcoma. Those who knew Clarence yet cherish their memories.
He is survived by members of his family he deeply valued, including his grandson, Christopher Cifuentes, in whom he had great pride; his son-in-law, Michael Cifuentes; and his sister-in-law, Diane Savadil. They all treasure Clarence’s legacy of love and commitment.
Visitation will be held on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville, located at 303 Green Bay Road, Thiensville, WI 53092.
