Arthur L.H. Albers

Arthur L. H. Albers of Grafton, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2026 at the age of 98 years. Today, we mourn the loss of a hardworking, devoted family man who will be deeply missed. Born on July 20, 1927, in De Smet, South Dakota, Arthur moved to Cedarburg, Wisconsin, in 1941. During his high school years, he worked at Lumpe Electric and as an usher at the Rivoli Theater. Following his graduation from Cedarburg High School, Arthur began his 47-year career at Kiekhaefer/Mercury Marine. Starting on the assembly line, he advanced to become an indentured Tool & Die Maker, a role in which he truly excelled until his retirement.

Arthur’s career paused when he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Serving from 1950 to 1952 with the 529th Field Artillery Observation Battalion, he rose to the rank of Mess Sergeant and was stationed in both the United States and Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, Arthur returned to Mercury Marine and became deeply involved in his union, serving for several years on the executive board and as a dedicated plant representative.

Passionate about aviation, Arthur was a licensed pilot who flew recreationally out of the Sky Ranch airport in West Bend. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Habersetzer, with whom he proudly raised four children.

Arthur was deeply committed to his community. He served as a Boy Scout leader for the Saukville branch, where he led numerous camping trips and even built a custom canoe and supply trailer. He was also a proud, active member of the American Legion Rose Harms Post 355 for over 70 years. In his retirement, Arthur enjoyed woodworking, tackling odd jobs, and sharing his uncanny ability to fix any engine or piece of equipment brought to him. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Art took three major cross-country motorcycle trips with his sons. He also meticulously completed a near-concours restoration of a 1951 Harley-Davidson Trike, later transitioning to a Honda Goldwing trike, which he continued to ride well into his 80s.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine (Habersetzer); his children, Lisa (Esther), Glen (Melissa), Mark (Deb), and Lori; his granddaughters, Alyssa (Andrew) and Hannah; his brother-in-law, Rob; and his sisters-in-law, Virginia and Marilyn.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:00PM, at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, 979 N. Green Bay Rd., Grafton. Private family interment will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, town of Farmington. A visitation will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 11:00AM to 1:45PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Camp American Legion are appreciated.
