Aloys W. Hospel

In Loving Memory of Aloys Wilhelm Hospel - December 20, 1938 – July 31, 2025.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Aloys (Al) Wilhelm Hospel who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and grandfather, and a kind, selfless man who lived his life with integrity, determination, and unwavering love for his family. Al was the kind of man who did anything for those he loved.

Al was born on December 20, 1938, in Keeken, Germany, to the late Theodora (nee Elshoff) Hospel and Gerhard Hospel. He was the 3rd of four sons: Johannes, Theodor, Aloys & Wilhelm. On November 20, 1965 he married the love of his life, Rita. They had two children, Sonja & Thomas, and 5 grandchildren.

Al served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Intelligence Division stationed in Germany. He was the Owner/Founder of Star International Corp, an export firm servicing the print industry. His endeavor was to always provide the highest level of customer service. Al was an avid soccer player, playing for the US Army and then for the Bavarian Soccer Club in Milwaukee. His passion for the game prompted him to launch Bavarian Youth Soccer which is still thriving today. He accomplished the ultimate American Dream: coming to the USA with just a suitcase and building a successful life.

Al is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his brothers Hans and Ted; daughter Sonja; son Tom (Shannon); cherished grandchildren Courtney, Brittany, Hayden, Jackson and Ava.

We find peace in knowing how deeply he was loved. In his own words, he “was a lucky guy.”
