Wayne C. Denow

Wayne C. Denow, 77 Wayne C. Denow of Cedarburg went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 17, 2020, at the age of 77. Wayne was born in Port Washington at St. Alphonsus Hospital on August 21, 1942. He lived on the family farm in Grafton until he attended Heavy Equipment Operators School in Homestead, Florida. He then worked for the Ozaukee County Highway Department for 39 years, building many of the roads in the county that we drive on today. After ‘retiring’ from the highway department, Wayne then drove heavy equipment for Liesener’s Soils in Jackson, WI for 17 years. He loved working with heavy machinery and earth moving equipment. Wayne wore many hats in this life: a carpenter, a supervisor for the Town of Cedarburg, a snow plow driver for family and friends in the winter, and a friend to many. He was also an avid sheepshead player. Wayne was a content man. He lived in the same house for the last 51 years. Wayne was married for 56 years to the love of his life, Linnea. Wayne is survived by his wife Linnea, his two children Brenda (Bret) Corner, and Bob Denow. Sisters Dorothy (Phil) Monson and Lola Denow, brother Jim Denow, along with sister-in-law Karen (Roger) Wiebe. He is further survived by grandchildren Tyler Denow, Monica (Caleb) Vredenbregt, Sarah Corner, along with special niece Diane DiPerna and her sons Phillip and Anthony. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends he met on his wonderful journey through life. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, his mother Ethel, and his nephew Aaron Monson. Burial will take place Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Grafton, WI with immediate family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00am at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested donations in his name be given to the Men’s Club at First Immanuel Lutheran Church.
