Lulu Anna Kieckhaefer

Kieckhaefer, LuLu Anna (nee Fischer) Passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on November 11, 2016 to be with her husband Edward, in Heaven on Veterans Day. LuLu was born in Mequon on August 20, 1920 to Louis and Amanda Fischer. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Mequon, on December 17, 1937 she married Edward Kieckhaefer in Cedarburg at the Church of Advent. Edward served in the United States Army for two years. When he returned they moved to Mequon and Edward helped with the family farm on Mequon Rd. Their son, Curtis was born March 25, 1939 and their daughter, Barbara was born November 27, 1947. Curtis passed away April 4, 2011. LuLu spent so much time outside tending her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She canned and froze everything they grew, also making delicious jams and jellies. The farm was sold and they built a lovely home in 1964 on Riverland Road. Then she worked and managed the kitchen at the newly built Homestead High School. She worked there for ten years. After retirement Mom and Dad loved selling at flea markets. They enjoyed the selling and meeting people from all over the state. Dad passed away January 20, 2010 at Lasata care where he had been for four years. Mom lived next door at the Heights so she could walk over to see him every day. He waited to see her and they would smooch and hold hands (and the nurses would tease them, saying none of that). They were married 72 years when he passed away at 92. Mom moved to the Crossings for a year and then moved to Lasata in 2014 after she fell and broke her hip. She was cared for by all the wonderful nurses and aides at Lasata Care Center. Loving mother of Barbara (Larry) Mallien and the late Curtis Kieckhaefer. Proud grandmother of Bill Morgan, Mike Morgan and Molly Philaja, great-grandmother of Collin Morgan, Liam Morgan,Sara Morgan, James Morgan, Josephine Philaja and Harrison Philaja. She will be sadly missed by all of us. Funeral Services will be just like Edward’s on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 1:00pm at Lasata Care Center Chapel, W76N677 Wauwatosa Road in Cedarburg with Visitation at the chapel from 12:00 (noon) until 12:45pm. Rev. Philip Hillenbrand will be officiating. Private interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11313 N. Riverland Road, Mequon, WI 53092
