James G. Boehnlein Of Grafton, WI died peacefully at Kathy’s Hospice in West Bend, WI on December 14, 2017 at the age of 93. Jim was born in Fond du Lac, WI on October 6, 1924 the son of the late Benjamin and Hilda (nee Awe) Boehnlein. Jim served in the United States Army from September 28, 1943 – March 12, 1946 mainly in the South Pacific during WWII. On October 12, 1946 in Chilton, WI, Jim was united in marriage to Ruby P. (Nee Schmidlkofer). Ruby preceded Jim in death on March 27, 2016. Jim worked 36 years for Wisconsin Bell/ATT before retiring at age 57. Jim continued to stay active working as a phone system installer and building general contractor. He loved to hunt and fish and passed on his love for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. He attended all of his grandson's sporting events and was an avid Packer, Brewers and Cedarburg Mercs fan. He loved to relax at his cottage in Door County with the love of his life Ruby, his bride of 69 years. Above all he will be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. He kept a smile on everybody's face right until the end. Special thanks to Kathy House hospice for their wonderful end of life care. Jim is survived by his children: Gail (James) Eichenseer, Daniel (Mary) Boehnlein and Lynn (William) Blaser; Proud grandfather of Tracy Eichenseer, Benjamin Boehnlein and Nicholas Boehnlein. Further survived by other relatives and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 – 1:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 1619 Washington St. Grafton. Inurnment Church Cemetery. Family will received friends at the church on Thursday from 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM. Memorials to The American Legion Rose-Harms Post #355 or Grafton Lions Club appreciated.
