Gerald A. Thunander PORT WASHINGTON, Born May 15, 1929. Died peacefully, May 2, 2012 at age 82. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Ann (nee Zignego). Survived by brother and sister-in-law Charles and Delores Thunander, and sister, Lettie Sartorelli. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law Mary and Red Otterson, sisters-in-law Joyce Zignego, and Lorraine Zignego. Fond godfather of Mary Anne Krupski. Special friend of Linda and Mark Gottlieb, and loved by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by his parents Germaine and Edwin, and his sister, Kathy Whittaker (Thunander). A sincere and grateful thank you to Heritage Nursing Home and Rehab, in Port Washington, for their loving and tender care of Jerry, these past three years. You treated him like family, and we were blessed to have you in his life. Visitation, SATURDAY, MAY 12th at ST. MARY'S PARISH, Port Washington, from 10:30 until time of service. Memorial Mass at 12 NOON. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary's Parish, Port Catholic School, or Heritage Nursing Home. Jerry enjoyed his many years of service in the Army, teaching, and at the Main Post Office. He also touched many lives through prayer, pro-life work, and his quiet gentle manner.
