Following a long hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, Daniel Jon Schmidt, age 57, of Cedarburg, was called to his heavenly home on March 09, 2022. Dan was born March 12, 1964 to Christine (Pflanz) and the late Marvin Schmidt. He lived most of his life in Cedarburg, graduating in 1982. He enlisted in the Army the following September and remained in for 22 years achieving the rank of E7. He was an accomplished Sharp Shooter, Heavy Wheel Mechanic, & Staff Sargent. He was awarded a purple heart, decorations, badges, ribbons and awards during his time of service. He was honorably discharged in March, 2005. While serving in Germany he met and married Angela Spahn in August, 1985. Together they were blessed with their daughter, Charlene. Working as a mechanic at Custom Fleet, he met and married Jenny (Schneider) Day in February, 1997, and they were blessed with their son, Joshuah. In 2017 Dan retired from Water Blasting, Inc. where he worked as a diesel mechanic. Dan spent his last 16 years with Debbie, his partner and love. They enjoyed life doing things they both loved. Hunting, fishing, campfires, motorcycling, and time spent with family and friends. His beloved Sadie was by his side every step of the way. Proud Grandfather to Mason, Dan had a heart of gold, and would help others without a second thought. Dan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survived by: Debbie Paradies, Life Partner; Charlene (Franky) Nerone, daughter; Joshuah (Morgan Connor) Schmidt, son; Mason Schmidt, grandson. Further survived by Christine (Pflanz) Schmidt, mother; sisters Sandi (Schmidt) Manteufel, Linda (Schmidt) Hart, Kim (Robert) Weindorf. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Saturday June 25, 2022. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
