Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 – 7:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton, 979 North Green Bay Road, for Gordon R. Nelsen “Gordy”, 62, of Grafton who died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 3:00pm to 6:45pm. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI. Memorials to American Cancer Society appreciated. Gordy was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on December 27, 1949, the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Nelsen. He was united in marriage to Sue Ellen Schroeder on November 25, 1976. Gordy has touched many hearts of children, parents, teachers, co-workers and many friends. He was the custodian in the Grafton Public School system for 44 years. He was a very proud and dedicated employee and his work ethic was very strong. He was a person that recycled everything he could. Gordy was a fountain of information when it came to the history of the Grafton, Cedarburg and Port Washington area. Gordy always put everyone else before himself. He was a very giving and wonderful man with a gentle soul and had the gift of gab. Gordy is survived by his wife; Sue Ellen, children; John Drescher II, Dwight Drescher, Marnie Schaefgen and Teri Klipstein, grandchildren; Alyssa, Melissa, Lindsey, Michael and Elizabeth Drescher, Jacob and Brandon Drescher, Cheyenne, Austin and Sierra, mother; Margaret Nelsen, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and his sister.
