The Aftercare program at Mueller Funeral Home believes that every individual has a right to journey through his or her own grief. Mary Mueller, Aftercare Consultant provides telephone follow up contact with each family that Mueller Funeral Home has provided services. In addition, a series of books are sent out to all families throughout the first year up to the anniversary date of death. A support group which meets once per month and a Holiday Remembrance Service which is held before the holidays is also part of the Aftercare program.

2nd Tuesday of each month
The group meets in the upstairs conference room. Meetings begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. and end at 7:30 P.M. We ask that you call Mueller Funeral Home if you plan to attend. There is no fee for attending and it is open to the public.
The support group which meets the second Tuesday of each month is designed to provide an opportunity to journey through the grief process in a group setting which allows for meaningful conversation and interaction. When we can talk about our feelings they become less overwhelming and less upsetting. The reality is we don’t move on and have closure but rather we honor, remember and incorporate our loved ones into our lives in a new way. Group members are reminded that there is no right or wrong way to grieve, just their own way.
If individuals are looking for additional grief support, Lori is available for private home visits. Lori is experienced in working with the needs of grieving children and can provide support to them as well.
A Remembrance Service in honor of those who have died and in support of those who live. A spiritual message is presented by one of our area clergy along with a presentation from Lori Stahl, GMS on “Coping with Holiday Grief”. There is also a candle lighting ceremony to remember loved ones. There is no fee and all are welcome to attend.
